Like I said, busy day!

First off, we made an Etsy sell, couldn't come at a better time, and if your reading, thank you!

So, this is what I have been working on tonight. It is frustrating me to no end. There are elements about it that I love, and also that I hate. I'm not sold on the different sleeves, but I was trying it because Alexia wants it on her next competition dress. I think it will work fine with a more dynamic pattern.

It hit me tonight how deeply happy I am to be designing. This is what I always wanted to do through school, but then life got in the way. Now I have my huge organized craft room, and my giant sewing table (read living room, and giant desk), and I love it so much.

This dress is mainly just playing around learning my new serger, so it's okay if it doesn't blow my socks off. Of course, as a perfectionist, it better!

So, just wanted to share with you all (again), thanks for reading.

Busy Bees

Well, we are busy as little bees this holiday season!

We're kinda pressed for cash (like most of America), so we hand-making most of our Christmas gifts. We are having lots of fun doing it together as a family though, and our creative juices are really flowing.

I got a serger finally. I should have waited, but I thought I had more cash then I did (ooops), and I went ahead and bought it. Honestly, I don't know how I ever lived without it, and after Christmas (when we can afford thread), we will be flooding our ETSY store with all kinds of cute clothes made of my tons of stockpiled material. maybe someday we will even sell something.

Everyone LOVES Lexi's orange ice skating dress, and are so impressed I made it. That is worth 30 ETSY sales to me! Now I have a serger, I will start making some ice dresses to sell. I need some different patterns though, the one I have is too simple, and kind of boring. Once again, after Christmas.

I am also considering adding bath salts to our line of creations. It looks like everything is lining up for that, so hopefully, we can have some romantic gifts before Valentines Day.

anyway, we've been very busy, and just wanted to give you all a quick update.

Competition Day

Well, Today was Alexia's competition. Wasatch Freedom Classic. I showed you the purple dress I made her, but I made another one too. She didn't like it at first, but I told her to practice in it, and then decide how she felt about it. She fell in love with it,so yea!

She looked absolutly gorgeous in it, and it really stood out on the ice. She had six in the group she was competing in. She was excited and prepared, and she looked great. Unfortunatly she fell,so she took sixth place. She will continue to use the same routine for a while, building on it, and honing it. So she is still completly excited about compeating.

back to crafting...

It's been for ever since I blogged. Sorry, I know you hang on my every word (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha).

Anyway, I've been busy. Things are finally slowing down again, so I will have more time to get back to crafting, and posting, and all that stuff.

Alexia has an figure skating competition this weekend. She has been working really hard, so I made her a new dress to compete in. Here it is:

I didn't put any beads on the back. I'm not sure if I should or not, let me now what you think.

We also made a ton of hair clips to put in the skate swap. Some of them are pretty crazy, so we will see how it goes.

Another week, another adventure

Well, tomorrow I will be joining Alexia in her ice skating class. Well, not HER class really, but the adult class. I guess since I've always wanted to figure skate, I should just jump in and learn how.

I joined the club as a full member this year so the baby and I can also skate on Wed nights.

The classes are Thursday nights, and the ex has the baby that night, so I'm gonna strap on skates, put on my big girl panties and join. Guess we will see if you can teach and old dog new tricks.

I have the basics down, I've been ice skating since I was a child. I never joint the figure skating world though. I was never exposed to it. Over the past five years I have spent a lot of time at the rink on the sidelines. This is my second year on the figure skating club board. I guess it's time I give it a go. I've never been afraid to make a fool of myself. I am, however, a tiny bit afraid I will break a hip. (kidding, I'm too young for that. Right?)

New plan

Well, it's time I turn over a new leaf and get back on track. Any track really.

I haven't been crafting much lately, we are trying to get the house ready to put on the market, get back to school, and ice skating is getting into full swing.

I joined the figure skating club as a full member this year. That means I will be strapping on my skates and skating with the girls every week. It's great excersize, and I've always loved it, so I'm really happy about that.

I am going to enter a contest to get healthy as well. I will post all the details soon. It will take everyone's support to get picked. It's a social Internet popularity contest in order to get picked, then it's a seven week lifestyle challenge if you get picked.

If you allready have a Twitter, please follow me @AngelOneDesigns and if you don't, please sign up and follow me, so you can vote and support. I will really need all your help, I've never been the popular kid, so it will be a real challenge for me.

Thanks for reading, I will post up more details when I am actually awake tomorrow.

Back in the swing of things Monday

Sorry about the blog lag. I'm back, better then ever! So I sold a couple tutus and a flower at a Farmers market in WI. Yeah.

I'd love some ideas on how to make my blog better. Whatever you have, comment it or email it (aside from blog more often, I have that one on the list). I know a couple of you wonderful original followers have blogs as well, and I'd love to post a little ad for your blogs if your interested. (free of course!). I noticed someone else selling it, and sure someday I'd like a billion followers so I could, but the couple of you that do blog, I love following you, and think everyone else will too. Now I just need to figure out how.

My Twitter account gets followers still, and that's great, but Twitter seems to have become highly narcassitic. People tweet, but not to many people rerweet, or respond. It's frustrating to add anouther level of rejection to life.

Speaking of rejection, I've had my heart broken again, again. I should just give up I think. It doesn't appear that I am actually compatible with another person. At least not an honest and faithful one. I either need to lower my standards (impossible, they are just there!) or just accept that all the things I have in life, may be all the things I get. On the positive side, I have a lot of great things in life.

I need to get to 20 followers then I will run a contest, so please help, or if your new, please follow. I'd love suggestions on contests you like, and would like to see as well.

Well that's it for today in a nutshell. Thanks for reading, you are the best part of the universe.

Just a pile of garbage

Okay, kidding. It's several piles of garbage, and a giant dumpster is sitting in my driveway waiting to be filled up with the piles, then hauled away forever.

Big plans are accomplished in baby steps. I only have a few minutes before my next big conference call, so I thought I would catch you all up.

My stuff arrived at the store, and the tutus are all displayed. I love it!

I hope they sell fast, because I have a TON of tulle, and need some motivation to get cracking to get rid of it all!

Well, back to the grind, thanks for stopping by!

Another day down

It turns out I'm not so good at blogging everyday like in my head. So sorry about that. Truth is, there isn't that much to catch you up on.

I just shipped most of my inventory to WI, so I hope it all looks great there and sells really well. I did keep most the stuff I have listed on Etsy, just in case someone feels like suddenly buying from there. If stuff I shipped sales she can ship it for me or I can just remake it.

So, I'm still creating, still loving it.

Well, I'm officially putting my house on the market. I ordered a giant dumpster to toss out everything even kind of related to garbage. Dad says I need to toss it all and just buy new stuff. That seems a little extreme, but that's kinda the route I'm gonna go. This is my started home and I never really got it decorated the way I liked it. It always felt off. My next house will be a home, so I'm gonna start bare then build into it. I have the next house picked out, but it's all gonna depend on how long it takes my house to sell.

Lots of memories here, good and bad. Really, more bad memories here then any place I've ever lived, but maybe that's because they are the freashest.

On a completly unrelated note, I'm working on a book. It's about all my misadventures as a degenerate. It's funny so far, so I hope you all buy it after I finish it and figure out how to publish it.

Roo decided to do her own haor, I though you may enjoy.

Back at it

Well, here's another one. Different from the first, but along the same lines. This one is going to the shop. They are having a grand reopening July, 19th, so I just realized I better get cracking so I can ship off this load of stuff in time!!

Well, back to the design table!!

I know, it's been a while

Really, I know! I've been busy, but really I tried to blog a few times and it ended up getting all (frustratingly) deleated. So here we go again...

I just shipped the last of my diet food trade orders

I hope she loves it!

I'm giving up on Etsy I think. It's to frustrating. I will be shipping all my things to Daisy Chain in Columbus, WI. She has an Etsy if you want to check it out http://DaisyChainColumbus.Etsy.com

Well, I need to get back to work now, this time of year gets very overwealming. Crafting, and deciding to love my paying job, are the only things keeping me sane right now!!

Will work for (diet) food

Well, I'm full swing back into my medifast diet. Starving, craving everything, but so determined to make it to my goal this time!

It's been a busy couple of weeks. We roadtripped to Montana, and down through Yellowstone, then over to Idaho. So much fun!

Yes, that's a bear in the back of our truck!

As a creative way to afford being on my diet I am offering a trade. My hair clips for food.

The more I think about it though, I am willing to trade in kind almost anything in our store, so if you have an offer, make it. We love to create, so if it's something we don't have but you want, let us give it a whirl.

As long as it is sething I can create from supplys on hand, there's no obligation to buy. I can always just list it if we didn't get it to match what you have in your head.

On my work for food program, here is what I've created to send off. The white spots are patches of beads the glue needs to finish drying on. It does dry clear.

This one is for a graduation gift, I hope she loves it!

The color seems red, but it's fuschia

The color looks off on this one too. The muted part is bright purle tulle.

Ahh, back to work for now, thanks for reading!

And for tonights projects....

Well, I had no kids to chase around, so I actually accomplished quite a bit tonight.

Not to mention the five tutus worth of tulle chopped up and ready for vacation!

I still need to add these to my shop. Not sure on the last one, what do you think? That's a seashell in the center. Ahh, I don't know!

So I'm going to bed now, that E6000 really makes my throat tighten up and my head hurt, and man I use it and run lol. It's the only thing I trust to really hold stuff that's gonna need the extra strength though.

I have some seashells I am trying to decide what to do with. I have an idea in my head, so I am wondering if house varnish might work to stregthen and shine and protect. Any ideas?

Well, tomorrow it is work, then pack, pack, pack. Plus Lex is having a friend overnight. Should be interesting. I hope to have a few projects to take with me to finish while the kids sleep. I think I should have three tutu/blanket combos I can have finished by the end of the holliday.

Well, goodnight, and thanks for reading. Tons of love!

Hey there friends

Well, it's been a long week, but I'm through the thick of it, phew! Ice skating show was fabulous, Lexi did great, the whole show was awsome.

We pulled off the closing social without a hitch, and my dad (me lol) won some great prizes in the raffle. Looks like I finally get to fly! (iFly)

I made these for the girls to where tonight.

I really need to sell stuff lol. No, no lol. I really do need to sell stuff! Ahhh. I guess if I listed it all I would have better luck maybe...

Everyone loved the hearts, so I am gonna make a bunch more of those I think. I've got four bracelets done too, just need to decide what to adorn them with. What do you think? Jewels, beads, flowers? Maybe a nice combo of all of the above.

Well, off to bed, thanks for reading!

Hello world, I've missed you. Rw

Allright, I haven't really been anywhere, but I feel like I have.

We have been such busy little bees around here! We finished the ice show (phew), and soccer is done. We have one more big night Tuesday, the closing social for the figure skating club, then summer can start.

We are so excited about the trailer on the ranch in Idaho. I'm not sure yet how that will affect our crafting, but I think it will help focus us more.

We leave for West Yellowstone/Ennis/Virginia City on Friday, then we will stay Sun night at the ranch. Lexi is so excited for our adventure!

We finally listed some of our finished items on Etsy, so please pop over and let us know what you think of them. We listed the blue dress, the tutu, and the tutu/blanket combo. I have more of those, I just need to sit down and churn them out off the sewing machine. They only need finishing touches.

I made this for my stepmom for Mother's day

It is blue suaded material with a vintage amber earring attached. Of course it's no longer an earring lol.

I hope she likes it. This is the fourth try, but now I have the technique down I think I will be making them and adding them to our shop. I love that it's completly original.

Well, I've missed you all, so pipe up and say something okay?

Thanks for reading!

Hello world

Well, I road tripped last weekend. I didn't go to Vegas. If you know me, you know I have been kinda stuck on repeat for a long time. Well, I decided to break out and do something new, so I drove. I hit Idaho (quickly), and then Montana. Idaho is beautiful, and I usually get stuck there. I had it in my head to go to Big Sky/Bozeman though, so I blew through Idaho. I made it West Yellowstone and considered staying there. It was still pretty light though, so I pressed on. Here's what I encountered next:

It was so beautiful it took my breath away.

I made it to Big Sky, but I didn't really have a plan from there. It was dark, and there were lots of animals on the road, so I decided to stay the night in the parking lot of the Half Moon Saloon. Of course I went in and became a regular first.

(day 2 continues)

Deep breath

Well, I can see my desk. It doesn't mean I'm caught up, but I feel a little better.

I need to take photos and list all the stuff we have finished. It's been wayyy to long since I've listed. It just seems like by the time I am done with work, the last thing I want to do is more computer stuff. Lol.

Alexia had a playdate today, and we thought a craft would be a good idea. So I cut up some fleece they could tie together to make pillows. FYI not a good craft project for 8 year olds lol. So, here is the result after I finished tieing.

They turned out adorable, and I cut some fleece initials out & used fabric fusion to glue them on.

Well, thanks for reading, have a great evening.

Ahhh Mother's Day

Well, I may have been able to avoid working Mother' Day if I had worked all day today, but I really needed a day off, at least from paperwork. I have nightmares about getting trapped in my piles of manila folders. So I started the day with an early am ice skating lesson followed by one quarter of the soccer game. We came home via fruitless yard sales, and I started putting the bunkbeds together. The instructions have no words, so that's gonna take me a while!

Craft wise I finished one baby blanket (so cute), and need to create the tutu for it (and the hair clip). I can wait to get it together, it will be such a perfect baby gift. I also just finished (they need to dry) these charming hair clips to gift to Alexia's soccer team. They are so cute, I hope they love the surprise.

The white center is glue that dries clear, so you will only see the pink seed beads.

Well, I'm tired, so I'm gonna call it a night.

Happy Mother's Day to the mommies, and, as always, thanks for reading.

Good morning!

So sorry we have been MIA this week. Work is disturbingly busy, and Alexia has us chasing our tail in circles with her soccer and ice skating.

We finally made a sale, woo hoo! Then we made another one! So my baby tutus are gone. I have a few I haven't listed yet, so I guess I better get the rear in gear and get it done. We are going to change up the baby tutus a bit by bundleing them with fleece blankets and flowers for the hair (or anything really). It's cute in my head, and will use that HUGE surplus of fleece I bought a couple of years ago. I think when I use up all the tulle I have I am going to be done with tulle for a while though.

We are considering a second dog, so we went to the animal shelter. We love our Chewy, but think he would be happier with a friend. Plus we'd kinda like a dog that we can play fetch with lol. Chewy is a lover, it ends there. Anyway, there were labs (too big I think), and pitbulls (dad would disown me, even though I think they are the sweetest). The only one that seemed like a good fit was a medium size mix named Zoey. She is the sweetest thing. But she is a puppy, and obviously completly untrained. I'm not sure I can go through another puppy. She jumps, which worries me with the baby. So I have to decide if we should go back with Chewy to see if they get along. I know they will though. So really I have to decide if we can handle a puppy.

Well, I need to get back to the grind, so much to do today! Then more ice skating tonight, and again Sat at 8:45, then the second half of Lexi's soccer game, then I am free to craft again!

Out of town

Well, I am in California at the figure skating general council meeting. Very exciting stuff (for long boring meetings). Really, I am learning a ton. I'm really excited for the sport in general, and very excited for the direction of our club. When I get home I think I am really going to encourage my daughter to step up her figure skating game, as well as take back to the ice myself. I've always loved to ice skate, but I never was a figure skater.

She made it back from Disneyland with daddy in time for her soccer game. She scored the only goal, but she proudly told me it was a huge team effort. Well, I'm gonna eat some lunch, then get back to this meeting. I can't wait to get home tomorrow!

Well, busy weekend

So, incredibly busy weekend.

So today I finally got the lawn cut. The weeds are huge, and my whole patio area is a huge mess. Sometimes being a single mom really sucks. While mowing the lawn I hit a sprinkler that broke my steel irrigation way down in the ground causing the water to flow crazy mad. I got the master water shut off, but won't be able to turn it on at all till I figure out how to fix it. Blah!

I am super jammed with the paycheck job and family issues this week, so I don't think I will get any crafting done. Crappy, cause it makes me happy. The kids are gone till Sat., but I will be in Cali for the figure skating board from Thur-Sun. I sure hope there is sunshine and pool time!

Phew. Busy day

Well, I accompished a ton today. I designed, printed, and cut business cards. I designed a half page ad for the figure skating ice show next month. I made a new tutu (someday I should trim and list the 12 I have done!), and I finished a HUGE emergency real work project (the job that actually pays the bills).

Here is the ad, what do you guys think? I haven't turned it in yet, so there is time for changes, but I do turn it in tomorrow night.

Hopefully you can see it, since it's a picture of the computer screen.

Well tomorrow at 1:30 I am a single, childless gal for 8 days. I am going to clean my house, and go 8 straight days without stepping on a crumb! So if you don't hear from me it's cause I am eating Bon bons and watch soap operas (Do they still have those?). Maybe I will be a creative genius, who knows. I will be out of town on figure skating biz myself Thurs-Sun.

Well, have a great night, & thanks for reading!

Here is my problem with Etsy

Aside from the no sale yet....

You see, I'm addicted. I'm hopelessly addicted and inspired. It is the amazing and talented artisans. I see their work in all the mediums, then I get ideas. I want to try it all. I don't possibly have enough time (& attention span), and money to create all the inspirations swirling around in my head. Not to mention my sketch books.

So, here is the deal (I've reached the barganing stage of my addiction), I will work on focus, and keep creating the fruits of our imagination (Alexia's imagination is fruitfull too). You maybe buy something. Tell your friends. Mother's day is around the corner. If you don't love your mom, hey, I'm a mom, and making a sale would make my day..... Just sayin.

Ok, all joking aside, I am soooo happy to be creating again. It has been so long since I was inspired like this. It is great to be able to share this with my daughter as well. It's so cool when she wears things we dreamed up together to school and her friends don't believe her mom made it. They tell her it had to come from a store. Maybe I will finish the dress in time for First Friday free dress.....

Thanks for reading! Goodnight:-)

Long night, tons done!

Wow, I did stuff and stuff lol. No really, I tackled projects, and was very pleased with the results. I made my very first pillowcase dress. I altered the pattern a bit to make it bigger. It's still a work in progress. I think I am going to make a belt, not just the ribbon. Also I am going to add the fabric flowers, I just haven't decided how and where.

Obviously it needs to be steamed as well ha ha.

After that I cooked more ribbon, and made a ton more fabric circles to make into flowers. I have an insanely busy week, so that may be all this week.

Thanks for reading, have a great night.

Weekends, sunshine, happiness.

Well, it's Sat. I'm baking ribbon. Yup. Baking ribbon lol.

Well they come out so nice and curly. So much better for my hips then Arbys curly fries lol.

After they are done we're off to dinner and a movie. Tomorrow it's serious housekeeping and yard work.

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Man o man o man!

Geeze, what a day! I listed a ton of stuff today. I recieved an order of supplies I had been waiting on, and was very dissapointed. I thought I ordered rolls of 300, but I got rolls of 100. Rereading the item, it was my mistake for misreading a very misleading listing. He had them listed as rolls of 6"x300ft and in the discription as 100 yards being 300 ft. Since it's sold in yards my dislexic brain read 300 yards. I thought I had found a great deal, but I actually paid double what I pay at the vendor I use. Bah!! I asked to return it. Plus the order was missing items, and paypal charged me 10 more then my Etsy invoice. If I wanted to pay retail I would have just gone to the store!

No crafting today

Today was exahsting! Started hectic cause I slept through the alarm, but we made it out on time. I had to go to the SLC office, and then the truck failed inspection, so it wasn't ready in time for me to leave. I had to steal (borrow) my dad's car. I never ever want to give it back.

I decided I really wanted a Sizzil, so after ice skating, I spent all evening researching that. I decided on the Big Shot and found a good price I think.

Anyway, I haven't even checked to see how the hairclips turned out after the bead glue dried.

I just listed this

A better, higher quality version of course....

I probably won't get any crafting done tomorrow either. We have ice skating, then soccer, so another long night.

It's technically tomorrow...

Hi again. Just remembered I had this little non crafty video clip of the miniest mini me (age 2)

Hope it works!

It's all about the nightlife baby

That, or possibly the lack thereof. Lol.

I was just starting to get busy making korker ribbon when my Besty stopped by. She never just drops by anymore, so that was cool. Of course she was there about five minutes when my dad called and wanted to take us to dinner. So our visit was cut a little short. She had to run anyway as it was time to get her son.

Long story short, we got home with just enough time to put jammies on, and say nighty nights.

Of course after that I got back to work. Here's what I've got

I really need to list more stuff! That and figure out the very best way to get stiffening spray off everything lol.

Sweet dreams & thanks for reading!

I'm back

Well, Vegas was fun, but boy was I glad to get home. It felt so good to get reaquainted with my pillow!

The week is in full swing and I am back to being creative and productive. It feels so nice. I'm not sure I will find my niche on Etsy, it's frustrating to still have sold nothing. I know, patience.

The other reason I wonder if I will make it is I am artistically ADD. I have so many ideas, and I want to use every medium imaginable. I love it all.

Despite that, here are a couple of hair clips I made today.

I haven't decided if I should list them or not. I think yes to the green, it's so unusual, but no to the red, it feels unfinished.

Well, back to work. Thanks for reading, and much love!

Hi

Sorry I am mia. Went to Vegas, back to work tomorrow. Love to all!!

One more down

Well, we finished it, and we photographed it, we even listed it. We loved it. Visit the shop to see it entirely.

So, have a great night!!

Hi today

Just realized I haven't blogged today, so here it is.

I didn't so much craft today, but Lou (Lexi) & I did workshop some great ideas. I made one AWSOME tutu, but I picture it tomorrow. I need to finish it.

Lou loved hers so much she wore it ice skating

I made her a funky headband to wear Sat. She will be skiing in the whole ensamble.

So, goodnight.

This Venture is getting expensive

Okay, almost ready for bed. I listed a bunch of new stuff today. A couple tutus and some of the minks.
I need to go change one of the tutus because I decided to sew the waistband to make it more perfect, and then I lined the waist with the purple flowers I used on the skirt. I LOVE it!

Of course it would really be nice if I sold something....

I made a tinkerbell looking one, but somehow the waistband ended up big, so I am giving it to my partner in crafting, Alexia. She was going nuts for it before I finished it last night.

So now I decided I need ribbon for the waists, since I love the professional finished look, and I will need thread to match. I think I've got the best tulle supplier, but send ribbon and thread suggestions my way. I also need more fascinator supplies, and embellishments. If you have, or know of great deals, it would help to keep our costs down.

Creating, organizing, then messing it up

Well, we spent the better part of last night creating. We finished three bows, and created one tutu that needs to be finished before listing. I also finished six bow/flower barrettes that were waiting for the final touch. I cut up three spools of 100 ft tulle, and made up six waistbands for tutus. I photographed and measures some minks of my great grandmothers that my grangmother wants me to sell as well as the three finished tutus and the finished barrettes so I can get all that listed today. Phew, how's that for an update?

Here is what my space is shaping up into.
